Permits
Burn Permits
Burn Permits require the approval of the Sheldon Fire Chief and the Sheldon City Council. Please send your request to brad@cityofsheldon.com or sam@cityofsheldon.com for details on an in-town burn permit.
Peddler (Transient Merchant) permits
Transient Merchant Permits require the approval of the City in most circumstances. Here is the link to the blank permit. See also City Ordinance Chapter 122.
Sign Permits

- Sign permit fees are typically $35 per sign unless a variance is needed.

Zoning Permits
Zoning permits are required for items such as decks, patios, pergolas, sheds, relocated houses, new houses, fences, egress windows, new construction, additions. Permits generally not required for roofing and interior work (except permits are required for egress windows). Sheldon does not have building inspections, the state codes are required to be followed. If you have a question, please call 712.324.4651 and ask for Sam or Todd.
