FY Tax Levy Hearing.

Our annual property tax levy hearing will be held on Wednesday, April 1 at 4:15 PM. There will be no action other than to hear your comments on the proposed levy. Here is the link to the hearing agenda.

The City’s taxable growth for FY27 is 7.26% ($1,331,260), but it is capped in state code to a revenue growth of 4.14% ($1,292,486). This is a reduction of $38,774 in revenues from what it would have been prior to the state-imposed cap.

The tax rate is going from $15.28094 (certified rate for FY26) to $15.32968. This translates to less than a 5-cent increase per $1,000 of taxable valuation after the statewide rollback.

This does not directly mean your own property taxes are going up by 4.14%. Here is the link to the Property Tax Estimator (there are two tabs, one for Residential and one for Commercial Industrial).
